Embracing Complexity Advisory Group

We are looking for 7 people, with lived experience of being neurodivergent (aged 18 or over) to join the Embracing Complexity Advisory Group.

The purpose of our Advisory Group is to develop a partnership with the community of neurodivergent people and meaningfully involve the group in our research.

We are organising the advisory group so that people with lived experience of being neurodivergent can be involved in each stage of our research.

As a first step, we want to co-design our research, which will involve identifying accessible research methods, establishing research priorities, developing research objectives and setting out research strategy.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for 7 people, with lived experience of being neurodivergent (aged 18 or over).

Embracing Complexity works to serve all neurodivergent people, whether or not they have official diagnosis(es). We therefore welcome applications from all and would like to create a group that represents a range of ages, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, levels of education and employment statuses.

We particularly welcome people who meet at least ONE of the criteria listed below:

- People who do not use conventional methods of communication.
- People who have multiple neurodevelopmental diagnoses or believe themselves to meet criteria for multiple neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
- People who are on the waiting list to have an assessment.
- People who have attempted to get a formal diagnosis, but for any reason didn't receive one.
- People who identify as neurodivergent and have support needs, but don't want to seek a formal diagnosis.
- People who have received their first diagnosis when they were 25 or older.
