Going To Hospital wins 2020 Waterloo Foundation Embracing Complexity Award

28 January 2021

The Going To Hospital book, which aims to take the fear and uncertainty out of hospital visits, has been voted as the winner of our Waterloo Foundation Embracing Complexity Award for 2020.

Each year, as part of our partnership with The Waterloo Foundation, our members vote for a project that embodies the vision and values of Embracing Complexity.

This year's winner, Going To Hospital, is a collaboration between Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and Cornwall Down's Syndrome Support Group with the support of Down Syndrome Research Foundation, Mencap and Inclusive Teaching Matters. The book uses photos, words and Makaton symbols to explain the process of visiting hospital.

More information about the project is available on the DSRF website. DSRF and Mencap are both Embracing Complexity members.
